HARRISBURG – Rep. John Lawrence (R-Chester/Lancaster) issued the following statement in response to Thursday’s violence at the U.S. Capitol.
HARRISBURG– At a committee hearing in the state Capitol earlier this week, state Rep. John Lawrence (R-Chester/Lancaster ), Chester Water Authority Board Chair Cynthia Letizell and Penn Township Chief of Operations Karen Versuk spoke with passion in favor of the continued independence of Chester Water Authority (CWA) and in support of House Bill 2597, which would block any sale of CWA without ratepayer approval.

HARRISBURG – Legislation prioritizing COVID-19 testing for first responders, medical professionals and vulnerable populations passed the Pennsylvania House of Representatives earlier today by a vote of 201-1.
HARRISBURG – Legislation passed earlier today would facilitate rapid COVID-19 testing for Chester County’s health care workers and first responders. Introduced by Rep. John Lawrence (R-West Grove), House Bill 2455 gives Chester County the green light to implement Coronavirus antibody testing that complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidance.

HARRISBURG – Rep. John Lawrence (R-Chester/Lancaster) announced today that Oxford Borough will receive a $736,000 state grant for sidewalk repair and safety improvements. Nearly 9,000 linear feet of sidewalk and curbing will be installed in areas where none exist or where deterioration dictates the need for replacement. What would you think if you learned that a New Hampshire-based private timber company was approved for a $50 million loan from the state of Pennsylvania to purchase timberland in northwest Pennsylvania? At a 1 percent interest rate, with generous repayment terms? What if you learned that the deal was not publicly advertised or competitively bid? Or that this $50 million loan, for the purchase of private timberland by a private company, comes from a taxpayer-subsidized state program that is, by law, required to fund improvements to water and sewer plants?
